New Regulations have commenced in Victoria and this means Pool and Spa owners now need to have a current Certificate of Swimming Pool/Spa Barrier Compliance on record with Council at all times in future, conducted by a VBA Registered Inspector.
What you need to know
1
Registration of your pool/spa with Council is required by 1st November 2020
2
Your Council will then advise under which Standard your pool/spa will fall under, determined by the original date of construction.
3
Care needs to be taken to ensure correct documents are provided to Council
4
You will then need to have your pool fence certified by a Registered Inspector as compliant. If it doesn’t not comply, you will have 60 days to rectify the fence and a re-inspection will be required. The Inspection process may not be straight forward and care needs to be taken to ensure the correct requirements are in place and documents for Council are also correct.
